Tyler's school told him from the beginning that he could get his Certificates he qualifies for as he goes. He hasn't received them. So he called the Certificate place and they said he couldn't have them until he got his Diploma (Bachelor's Degree). But how do CNA's get theirs, and Phlebotomists, and EKG/ECG Techs before they graduate? So Tyler was furious. He called his school and left a message with the Dean there. He didn't hear back, so today we both went in to talk to him. He called the certification place and he didn't tell us exactly what they told him but he told them (we were listening while he called them right in front of us) that other students have received theirs before graduation. Anyway, he said meantime that Tyler can print off proof that he's taken the tests and earned the Certificates and then he and another Professor who's also a doctor can write referral letters to go with this proof to use to get a job. So we printed off a couple of copies. We'll have to get more later and have to get the referral letters later since we ran out of time while we were there.
Okay, now with the Military. An Air Force recruiter told Tyler he's absolutely disqualified from being in the Military for something that happened when he was 15 or 16 yrs old. Not sure how much I can dare write down here so I won't mention what it was here. Anyway, it was soooo disheartening for Tyler, and even for me! Tyler cannot find a good job. We HAVE TO HAVE benefits; my life depends on them quite literally. I cannot find a job at all. Nothing. More and more places are requiring Associates or at least Bachelor's Degrees. It's insane! Even to work at a fast food joint or cleaning. They also like all this experience, like 2 years here, 5 years there, etc. But I'm still applying hoping that someone will like me enough to hire me.
So anyway, back to the Military thing. We're still not 100% sure Tyler can qualify for the military so we went to the Utah National Guard office at the Mall and met with a recruiter there today. He gave Tyler the run-down and an application. Even though Tyler's considered over-weight, because he's so thick in the shoulders and neck he actually just fits inside of their height-to-weight ratio! Hee hee I have a very meaty man and I love it!! :) (just had to say it lol).
But at any rate he's still going to go on a healthy diet and start to work on his sit-ups. He can pump out those push-ups so there's no issue there, it's the running and sit-ups he struggles with a bit. But he bulks up and gets in shape pretty quickly so I know he can do it. I plan on doing it right along with him, too.
He'll go in the Special Forces into the Medical Segeant. That's the equivalant of a Physician's Assistant, which is what his little brother, Joe, is. Pretty narly, eh? And in the SPECIAL FORCES!! :) So he'll get done in 4-6 years serving his time in the military, either abroad or in the good ol' US of A and then finish civilian PA school in a few short months and be done. :) Then he was thinking of doing medical school actually to be a full-blown MD. Awesome, eh?
I really hope it works out for him!!
He'll be gone for 10 weeks of Basic Training then go onto his special training as a PA in North Caroline for 100 weeks. Me and the girls would go with him for that. Our medical would 100% be covered for this entire time, plus some pay, housing and some food. AWESOME!!
Then who knows where he'd go next. But he has to have a Secret clearance. That's a toughy. I really, really hope it works out for him! He's STOKED and I'm excited for him, too! It'll be SOOOOOO hard having him gone for so long but others have done it, I'm sure I'll find some support somewhere and I'm sure plenty of other mothers/wives who'll understand and sympathize with me (hee hee).
Okay, and a clarifying on the my last blog.
I know I sounded mad. I didn't realize how mad I sounded until I re-read it AFTER I posted it! lol. I am mad about where we're at. I know we're where we're at because of US and nobody else. BUT. Just so ya know. We don't spend our money like a couple of idiots. I know I already said that but let me clarify. We bought a couch, TV, table & chairs and washer & dryer WITH CASH YEARS AGO. When we weren't in debt except with the car! (and a bit of medical). WE SOLD ALL OF THAT!!!!!!!
We got almost dollar-for-dollar back selling our stuff. I know people frowned on what we did, but we thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted and that's done and gone in the past. We didn't go buy things when we didn't have money. That's a fact!! We don't go on vacations or spend our money frivolously.
We also HAVE to have internet for Tyler's school. He's required to log-on to his school site every single day and he has homework on there and everything. It's a half-online school. We don't HAVE to have our cell phones, though. They're nice but definitely a luxury we can live without. We plan on just not paying for them because we cannot cancel them (400 bucks!!!) and we cannot pay them. We'll just have to get a land-line and maybe a pre-paid cell phone for Tyler to take with him to work and such. Pretty basic. We'll see how it works out, though.
We've cut our budget down to the bare necessities, believe it or not. I seriously feel like we're always having to explain ourselves ya know? People assume things all the time and they're wrong. Mostly always totally wrong.
We don't buy clothes, we don't vacation, we don't go out to eat unless we have gift certificates, we don't go to movies without certificates unless it's the dollar theater, we don't buy brand-name anything, we don't buy ANYTHING.
Our credit cards and loans were to cover the following: rent, car payments, insurance, food, medical, gasoline, phone. The BASICS. Nothing else!!! So please don't get the idea that we're big spenders that put ourselves into this debt.
Blame it on my falling apart body.
Just a FYI. The washer and dryer we got on sale and they were front load and they saved us OVER 100 DOLLARS A MONTH ON UTILITIES. Beat that!!! Since we sold them and inherited my grandmother's huge, old clunker machines our utilities are over 100 a month just for electrical alone IN THE SUMMER!!! Dead serious it's the washer and dryer. We don't run things around the clock.
We're really not stupid. We've just had a lot of trials befall us and I believe that we've been required to go through these things to learn lots of lessons for ourselves and probably to help others, too.
Okay, anyway, now we'll see where this military thing goes to!! If it works out he'll be in Basic Training by JANUARY 2010!!!!!!! And enlisted in a week or two!!! Can you believe it??? WOWSERS!!!
Well, so, I'll give an update although I've been putting it off for a while waiting to put on here any GOOD news for a change.
Not much good has happened, quite honestly, but I'll try to note the positive things first, k? :)
Tyler's doing excellent in school. I'm so proud of him! He truly has found his niche. It's great. All the years of hard work and major struggling is paying off in his good grades. It's REALLY lifted his self esteem and confidence. My smart Tyler is really blooming and I ALWAYS knew it was in him! Sure some thought I was too hard on him, but I KNEW he was there. He just hesitated too much, doubted himself, etc. But now he has no need to doubt himself. He just is awesome. :)
I'm proud of myself for keeping my kitchen CLEAN! Yay! A clean kitchen makes me feel so happy. Oh, and I'm also now officially hired by my sweet sister-in-law Alicia to clean her house for her. She's pregnant and soooooo sick the poor girl!! She's quite the trooper and almost never complains but is just more sick than I think I could ever handle! I wish my bro would get his bum in gear and help her out more. I'm a little disappointed in his unhelpful attitude. I want to pay him a piece of my mind LOL. Perhaps he's suffering from depression. That I can understand.
I also got a part-time job!!! YAY!!!!!!! I guess that's really good news, eh?
I get 8 an hour with max 15 hours I can work a week. So far I've only been able to squeeze in 6 hours a week. I know that sounds pathetic, but it's hard to work when the girls are all around me and Tyler has to study for school and the house needs cleaning or the yard needs watering or I'm having a bad period (which is the case right now HAHAHA).
I am technically called the Marketing Director. It's for Women in Business Magazine. It's an excellent magazine and I need to sell advertisement spaces in it!! ANYBODY, PLEASE, ADVERTISE WITH THEM!! I get commission off of it and that's our only hope of help right now financially. Anyway, the prices are very reasonable and I can make almost any deals I want or discounts. It goes to 10,000 people in Utah County and it's a free magazine. It's mailed to them. So it's like one of the most effective ways to advertise. It's a great magazine. Even my mom likes it :). www.WBMagazine.org
Okay, so that's what I'm doing right now.
I just need to get out and go solicit business in the area and what-not. Anybody have businesses they know of that could be interested? You can just pass along the info and I won't tell them who sent it if you don't want me to.
Sophie's been sick the last couple of days. Fever, throwing up, being tired, all that. She just woke up now and it's 4am. UGH!! Tyler and I are both up. He was doing homework and I was catching up with things online.
I'm going to go see a Uro-Gyn. That's a specialist that's in Urology & Gynocology. I'm sooooo not happy to see a man AT ALL. I'm so against men doctors doing women things. It just really grosses me out and freaks me out so bad!!! I've had bad experiences with two docs so I have ligit reasons to be freaked out of them. I think they're all perverts. Period. You can't convince me otherwise so don't even try.
Okay, anyway, I'm going to see this guy cuz my midwives don't know what to do for me or my reg doc (who I can't see anymore anyway cuz I can't pay the man). I have been having MAJOR pain when I go potty. Like BAD pain. Like it feels like my insides are ripping out when I go. Perhaps it's just a really bad pulled muscle, but whatever it is it HURTS. I've been tested a couple of times and one time there was blood but no infection and another time infection and another time just minerals. Okay, I was tested 3 times lol. I can't count at 4 in the morning! :)
Anyway, then another thing that's kinda bothering me. Perhaps it's my diet, or my endometriosis is causing all of these problems, which is very likely, but I go from diarreah to constipation. And it's BAD. Like I cannot go at all and I sit there. And the stomach pain is sooo awful. SO bad. I feel soooo sick. The pain is a mixture between feeling like I have the stomach flu with diarreah pain to gas to cramps and to some other feeling I haven't felt before. So I have no idea what's going on.
I've been putting off telling anyone these problems just cuz I always have so many. And it's so tiring to hear about, I know.
I know a lot of people don't even care and are really calloused and like to think that they'd handle these problems better than I do so I just don't like talking about it sometimes cuz I don't want heartless, cold people around me to make fun of me (which I've been told happens when I write blogs). I want loving, supportive people.
But most importantly, I want ANSWERS and SOLUTIONS!!!
I'm really really really really tired of getting fatter and fatter and FATTER all the time!! And not just fatter, but everything else. My thyroid is screwing up again. It's going more and more hypo, AGAIN, and I'm getting harrier and harrier and losing all the hair on my head. I'm SOOOOOOO UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously!!
OH GREAT. Lacie just threw up right now!!!! oh man. WE DON'T EVER EVER GET A BREAK!!!!! It's over and over and over again. one thing after another.
you know I was praying about this CRAP that we go through and you know the answer I got? WE ARE REQUIRED TO GO THROUGH IT. Just like when you're required to take a final to get your final grade, or required to pay your taxes, or required to put gas in your car in order to drive it. Something like that. WE HAVE to go through this. So we just have to endure.
But Heavenly Father did not say we have to do it alone.
That's why we have family, and friends. And thanks to Heavenly Father we have some good family and LOTS of really good friends. :)
You can't pick the fam but you can pick your friends and sometimes you can pick some family to be your friends! hee hee. And we have. (we love you guys so much!).
So anyway, I didn't have a period for two months and was in LOTS of pain. I finally started my monthly joy last weekend (Friday I think) and it's still going strong. Like I'm talking having to change every single hour. It's AWFUL. Tyler wants me to go to the ER tomorrow cuz it's so bad. And it's not letting up. It's getting worse.
SOMEONE PLEASE FIX ME!!!!
*sigh*
I just feel like sobbing right now. I'm sooooo tired. Tired of everything.
One more thing. A nosey neighbor called the police on me.
Why?
Because they assumed I lock my girls outside and won't let them back into the house!!!!! Isn't that AWFUL???
I was sitting on my lawn chair when two cop cars pulled up and said a neighbor called and said I NEVER watch my kids and I ALWAYS lock them out and they'll be banging on the door crying to come in and I won't let them. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? I was SHOCKED. Either Tyler or I are ALWAYS out there with them!!!!
I was more than pissed. I was FURIOUS. So mad that I went to two separate neighbors to ask if they called. Of course both said no.
But Tyler's 100% sure it was the ones across the street. Nosey people that they are. I am soooo mad about this and so is Tyler so we're not letting our girls play with that kid of theirs anymore unless we can see everything that's going on. This mother across the street told Lacie that I should be watching her and not Tyler.
I mean I had to give Sophie a bath cuz she peed her panties and that was FIVE MINUTES and Lacie went back outside and she called the cops. OH MY GOSH.
I HATE this place. :(
The cops were embarrassed to have been called out. They said it was a waste of their time but the have to when someone calls, esp about children. They saw me sitting out there watching my girls and were like, "uh, you obviously are watching your kids". DUH you think? lol
Okay, there's the latest update.
I hope I figure out what the heck is wrong with me before I get too heavy that I'll need bipass surgery and have heart disease and not be able to have any more kids and have a body of a 50 or 60 yr old instead of the 30 yr old. Cuz frankly what I'm going through shouldn't be happening to someone as young as I am.
Oh, it's my birthday next week. I'm going to be so old lol. At least I FEEL super old. (read above for why that is).
I want something pleasant and nice and sweet to surprise me on my birthday. Anything to cheer me up!!! :(
So today I had my tests I've been waiting for. I was going to have to wait until next week for the stress test but my doc got me in today. That was pretty narly. It was NOT what I expected! It was so weird!! Cuz sometimes I like weird things parts of it I liked and it made me giggle, but other parts were not so fun. What they do is stick these little monitors on and a mini ultrasound machine and skinny, long, pins or needles inside the muscles/nerves and metal clips and SHOCK you! They do it until the muscles and nerves respond the way they want I guess. My right arm and hand took 3-4 shocks before it'd jerk and hurt and the left arm and hand would take 1-2 shocks, generally. The left arm and hand hurt worse than the right. A couple spots KILLED!! But my right arm and hand kinda tickled and made me giggle. Some of the shocks I kinda liked. Call me demented I guess LOL.Well, I know there was a difference between the two arms and hands but I can't tell you if it was significant enough or what exactly this test was for. I've never heard of it before and don't know all the reasons for having them for. I know he wanted to see if I have carpal tunnel in my right wrist, but why he'd test both hands and arms on both sides I don't know. I just found it a bit interesting. Then I had my MRI. It went well. I got copies of my brain hee hee. My sister, dad and I looked at them and Andrea showed me different parts of my brain and stuff. From what I could tell I look just fine everywhere, but I'm not an expert so who knows what to look for, right? Besides my neurologist and the radiologist! haha. So I have to wait, again, for the results. Oh well!! I figure if it's serious enough I'll hear from my Neurologist or my doc sooner than my next appointment, if they get the results before I bring my copies in or not.Well, my little girlies have Strep Throat! And, Sophie started throwing up today and getting a fever! Poor little girly! So we're gonna stop her omoxycillan (sp) to see if she's allergic to that and then put her back on it to see if it's what's making her throw up. Kinda sucks for her! So she could have the stomach flu on top of strep throat. My poor baby! She catches everything!!We're still waiting for Tyler's blood work to come back to see if he has mono, too. I would not be surprised at all, unless he's having sympathy pains for me and/or is just plain fatigued nearly to death because of all the stress he's been going through! His wife is sick, his girls are sick, we keep getting sued and crap and he can't work enough hours and I can't get a job..... the list goes on. Just when he needs good friends to support him some are too busy and others aren't here... it's so sad.Okay, anyway, so the waiting game is on to hear about my results and Tyler's. I'll keep y'all posted, even if it's just my blog I'm keeping posted LOL.
So I have been having more health issues, AGAIN! I swear it doesn't end!My stomach still bloats huge when I eat and it hurts so bad! I had some blood work done and an ultrasound which turned up nothing, except Mono! Again!!! That used to be unheard of, getting mono a second time once you've had it before. But I guess I'm a new case among a few other people like me who had re-flare-ups, according to my doc.So last week, either Tuesday or Wednesday, I woke with a start at about 10:00am. The girls weren't awake yet (lucky me) so I just got halfway up and leaned onto my elbow getting ready to just get up. I leaned there for just a few moments when all of a sudden I lost ALL muscle! I didn't feel anything, just collapsed! My joints crashed together from the sudden weight of my body and I just layed there. I don't remember everything very well cuz I was kinda out of it, but I remember I couldn't move, I panicked a bit, so I just went back to sleep and slept for another good two hours!!!Since then I've been really weak, super tired, and kinda "out of it". I don't know if that's from the recurring mono or from whatever it was that caused this "temporary paralysis".I decided to call my doc's office just to let them know and put it on my file but they said I had to come in anyway. So I went in and my doc was concerned. He said it was either a seizure, a stroke, or a weird passing-out (which he said is unlikely though of course possbile) or some other neurological or heart issue. So, tomorrow morning I have to go back there to get MORE blood work done for potassium levels, my cholesterol to see if it jumped higher again, maybe my mono to see where it's at, and see if I'm anemic among other things. YIPEE. Then they're scheduling me an appointment to see a gastroenterologist to give me an endoscopy to see if I have an ulcer or something else in my guts. It's probably just super annoying Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is NOT fun to have and incurable, but not life-threatening at all. They'll also schedule me an appointment to go see a Neurologist to do an MRI and an MRA to see what the heck caused my temporary paralysis. If that doesn't turn up anything then I'll see the cardiologist to see if it has something to do with my heart not getting the blood to my brain like it should, or something else. So, here we go AGAIN with all my health issues, tests, and racking up our already HUGE medical debt!! None of the options sound nice to me, but I'm hoping it's not something like a stroke, MS, or seizures! Those are all BAD things to have!!Anyway, I'm really sick and tired and weak right now. If anybody feels like they want to watch the girls for me or do my dishes or laundry or make us dinner then feel free to. hee hee hee!!! :) I know, I'm such a sponge, huh? hahaha Love to you all!God bless!
